What is Seilers?

Seilers is organized around two core document types: Playbooks and SOPs. Both help your team work consistently, but they serve slightly different purposes.
  • A Playbook is a high-level, structured guide for a repeatable process. Think of it as the full story — covering context, responsibilities, decision points, and the steps involved. A hiring playbook, for example, might cover everything from opening a role to making an offer.
  • An SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) is a focused, step-by-step document for a specific task within a larger process. An SOP might detail exactly how to screen a résumé or conduct a structured interview.
Playbooks and SOPs work together: a playbook provides the strategy and structure, while embedded SOPs handle the granular execution details.
You don’t have to use both document types from day one. Many teams start by creating a single playbook for their most important process, then add SOPs as they need more granular detail.
