Comments in Seilers let your team collaborate directly on the content of a playbook or SOP without changing the official document. Whether you’re reviewing a draft procedure, flagging an outdated step, or asking a clarifying question, inline comments keep all feedback anchored to the exact text it refers to — making conversations easy to follow and act on.

Adding a Comment

You can leave a comment on any piece of text or section in a playbook or SOP, as long as you have at least Commenter access to the document.
1

Highlight text or click a section

Select the text you want to comment on by clicking and dragging over it, or click anywhere within a content block to anchor a comment to that section.
2

Click the comment bubble icon

A comment bubble icon (💬) will appear in the margin or in the floating toolbar. Click it to open the comment input box.
3

Type your comment

Enter your feedback, question, or suggestion in the text box. You can format your comment with bold, italic, or inline code if needed.
4

Post the comment

Press Enter or click Post to publish your comment. It will appear as an inline annotation on the document, visible to everyone with access.
Use comments to suggest edits or flag outdated steps rather than changing the document directly. This keeps the official content intact while giving authors clear, trackable feedback to review and act on.

Replying and Resolving

Comments in Seilers are organized into threads, so conversations stay connected and easy to follow. To reply to a comment:
  1. Click on the comment thread in the document margin.
  2. Type your reply in the Reply box at the bottom of the thread.
  3. Press Enter to post your reply. All thread participants are notified.
To resolve a thread:
  1. Open the comment thread.
  2. Click Resolve in the top-right of the thread panel.
  3. The thread collapses and is marked as resolved. The document text it was anchored to returns to its normal appearance.
To reopen a resolved thread:
  1. Click the Comments icon in the document toolbar and switch to the Resolved tab.
  2. Find the thread you want to reopen and click Reopen.
  3. The thread becomes active again and participants are notified.

Mentioning Teammates

You can bring a specific teammate into a conversation by mentioning them directly in a comment or reply. Type @ followed by their name or email address. A dropdown will appear showing matching workspace members — select the person you want to tag. They will receive an in-app notification and an email letting them know they’ve been mentioned, with a direct link to the comment.
You can only mention people who already have access to the document. If you want to loop in someone who isn’t a member yet, share the document with them first using the Share panel.

Comment Notifications

Seilers keeps you informed about comment activity so nothing falls through the cracks. You receive notifications in the following situations:
  • Someone comments on a document you own or are subscribed to.
  • Someone replies to a thread you participated in.
  • Someone mentions you with an @mention in any comment or reply.
  • A thread you’re part of is resolved or reopened.
Notifications are delivered both in-app (via the bell icon in the top navigation) and by email. You can adjust how and when you receive these notifications from your account notification preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone with access to the document can see all open comment threads, regardless of their role. Viewers, Commenters, Editors, and Admins all see the same comments. Comments are not visible to people outside the document’s shared audience — for example, someone who does not have access to the document cannot see its comments even if they have a workspace account.
Yes. To edit a comment you’ve posted, hover over it and click the ··· menu, then select Edit. Make your changes and press Enter to save. To delete a comment, select Delete from the same menu. Deleting your comment removes it permanently and collapses the thread if there are no other replies. Admins can edit or delete any comment in a document they manage.
No — resolved comments are never deleted. They are archived and accessible at any time from the Comments panel by switching to the Resolved tab. This means you always have a full history of feedback and decisions made on a document. You can reopen any resolved thread if the conversation needs to continue.
